Building with 56 apartments in Madrid Rio

Madrid

Project Date: March 1998
Construction: February 2001
Builded Surface: 7.650 m2

The building is located in the central district of Arganzuela, in Madrid, opposite the Matadero and Madrid Rio. It occupies the site of one of the industrial warehouses that originally characterized the district.

The value of the building lies in its commitment to the use of community spaces, which encourage coexistence among residents, a privilege that is not usually allowed in residential buildings in the center of Madrid.

The entire ground floor is freed from construction, configuring a free space that seeks lateral light, protected from the rain, fresh and safe. The patio opens onto the porch and is occupied by a play area and a swimming pool over the community garage, which receives direct sun for a small part of the day.

The main users of these spaces are the children who gather there to play.
