Tortosa, Tarragona

Project date: June 2010
Builded surface: 68.488 m2

Selected
The project for the “Terres of l’Ebre”new hospital involves the activation of an architectural, functional and compositive operating System.

The objective is therefore focused on building a matrix support, its simplicity is the base of the variety of programmes and opportunities for future changes.

The clarity of the scheme is the most important aspect, which is based on the translation of the matrix concept to a diagram understandable by all: a succession of rib-like circulations and longitudinal facilities that accommodate between itself Programmatic Bands in the form of Autonomous Buildings separated by well that accompany the transversal movements at the time these capture natural light, introduce nature in the building and are subject to possible future growths.
